Fourth in a series of classic two color quilts. Finished Size 70” x 70” as pictured. Add more blocks and rows to make a bigger quilt.

Kaleidoscope blocks have been part of a quilting since the early 1900’s, Although it would lend itself to a scrappy version, the antique kaleidoscope quilts using this design date to the 1920s and 1930s, and most were two-color, two-fabric quilts.

To make the Big Top quilt we used Bella Solid Amelia’s Orange for color 1 and Bella Solid Off White for color 2

Color 1 (9900 161)– 4 yds. Color 2 (9900 200)– 3¼ yds. – Bkgd.

Backing needed– 4¾ yds.

Also needed for this Project: Moda’s pattern is written using Marti Michell’s Large Kaleido Ruler. We used a Creative Grids 45 degree triangle ruler. You could use any 45 degree ruler that allows you to cut 45 degree triangles that are 5 1/2” from tip to base. Note: you could cut your triangles taller of shorter than 5 1/2”, but then you will need to adjust the cut size of the corner square triangles to fit. Changing your triangle size will also change your finished block size and quilt size.
